Some Maris ECDIS 900 users have experienced that the ECDIS suddenly remove installed charts automatically, and they received the following information from Maris support:

Are the "corrupted" charts shown as grey areas with dashes, and with status "Not Found" in the Chart handling window?

If yes please follow this steps:

1.    In ECDIS charthandling, delete all charts listed with “not found” (red icon) in chart status column

2.    Switch ECDIS to maintenance mode (SEE ATTACHED SWITCH OFF APPLICATION MANAGER)

3.    Close running ECDIS900 application

4.    Open the file called “chartdisp.ini” available at the following location in ECDIS

    c:/programdata/maris/ecis900/config/ (win 7)

    c:/document and settings/alluser/application data/maris/ecis900/config/ (win XP)

5.    Locate the following text in the document:

    [Vector charts]

    CheckMD5_NO=1

6.    Change CheckMD5_NO=1 from 1 to 0:

    [Vector charts]

    CheckMD5_NO=0

7.    Save

8.    Restart ECDIS900

9.    Switch ECDIS back to Approval mode (SEE ATTACHED SWITCH ON APPLICATION MANAGER)

10.    Reinstall missed charts in ECDIS

Repeat the above steps on all ECDIS on board vessel even though the other ECDIS does not show the same symptoms

Once the above is solved will be good to upgrade the software to the latest 5.0.2.465
